Here at Arbor Heat and Power we are pioneers of biomass electricity in the UK. Our systems generate a low cost, low carbon fuel for heat and power generation using nothing but wood chip.

Our dedicated team are totally focused on biomass gasification technologies. Our aim was to ensure that our systems are designed to last by using quality materials and craftsmanship without compromise. But we couldn’t just leave it there. After we’d achieved the top quality we strived for we went one step further and designed what we believe to be the most attractive package on the market. And the smallest. Which means we can promise more kWh per square metre than any other comparable system on the market. What more could you ask for?

Our systems, built and tested in Finland, only minutes from the Arctic circle, are designed to withstand the toughest of environments. They deliver longevity and provide peace of mind that the revenues gained on day one will still be rolling in twenty years down the line and beyond.

Unlike a conventional biomass boiler, our systems generate an energetic gas which can be used as a substitute for natural gas in an engine similar to that found in commercial vehicles. The gasifier, with its limited oxygen supply, will convert the wood chip into a gas (made up of carbon monoxide and hydrogen) called ‘syngas’ that has enough energy content to run an engine without needing any other fuel. Consequently, this makes all the heat and electricity produced by the engine 100% renewable! As if all of this isn’t enough, our gasifiers produce an extremely clean gas, meaning that there is no need for the removal of nasty tars.

And did we mention that our system is the UK’s first system to be accredited for both ROC’s (renewable electricity) and RHIs (renewable heat) incentive payments? Well we’re mentioning it now. Our systems are on the highest tariffs available for maximum returns. You could earn up to £75,000 in government incentives alone per system. This is in addition to the benefit of not having to use dirty and expensive fossil fuels for your energy.

Together with our innovative technology partners we have built successful biomass gasification projects throughout the world, one even operating within the harsh and demanding circumstances of a community within the Arctic circle. One of our own projects at Holywell Farm in the UK was not only the first technology of this type in the UK but was also a landmark as the first to be accredited for both ROC’s and RHI incentive payments.

We also offer several different options, designed with customers in mind, for financing of the ArborElectroGen®. Capital purchase is the best route for clients who want to take full advantage of the benefits offered by this system.
